High up in the Zillertal Alps, it's so quiet you can hear the branches swaying in the wind and the jackdaws flapping their wings. Stone pines resembling artistic sculptures hang down over steep rock faces.

Here, nature does its thing. And you can explore it as you please: on a hike, by e-bike and mountain bike, or even the wild way - climbing, rafting, canyoning and tubing. For motorcycling enthusiasts we have plenty of roads, courses and passes.

When you go hiking in the Zillertal, you experience what’s special about the Tyrol with every step. Birds sing, cows moo, as you rub some St. John's wort between your fingers and smell the aromatic mountain pine branches.

As you walk and breathe in the air, your surroundings change to a barren landscape with idiosyncratic rock and snow formations. You’ve reached our glacier. You can marvel at it if you hike up to the peaks at 3,000 metres. At the Hintertux glacier you can even ski in summer.

GUIDED TOUR TO OUR ALPINE PASTURE

In summer, we take our guests to our alpine pasture in the Märzengrund. That’s where the animals from our farm also spend their summer holidays.

On the way, you can cup your hands and drink refreshing spring water from the mountain stream, take off your shoes and dip your toes in the cool water. You can fill your bottle here and imbibe pure mountain energy!

The Zillertal is a cyclist’s paradise. With over 800 km of routes and a 28,185 metre altitude, you’d need a really long holiday to try them all. CLIMBING, FLYING, RAFTING AND MORE

The particular geography of this region means it offers you everything imaginable in the way of activities. Steep walls and breathtaking gorges, thundering waterfalls and babbling brooks abound in the mountains. They invite you to explore the high mountains.

In addition to a high ropes course, we have cool climbing areas, offering climbing courses to suit all levels. There are also places to take off on a sightseeing flight with a paraglider. If you are a really adventurous spirit, you can sign up for white water rafting, canyoning or tubing.

For real daredevils

Motorbike rides _ on point.

Once it starts snowing in the autumn, you probably don’t expect to get your motorbike out of the garage again? In which case, you’ll be really revved up when you hear the word Tyrol. Every bend on our mountain passes and along the lakes is incredible.

There’s no doubt the Zillertaler Höhenstraße is one of the most beautiful alpine routes in Austria. In Uderns you can start the Kitzbüheler Alpen Tour and ride via Gerlos to Kimml to the famous waterfalls, before returning to the Wöscherhof via the Schwarzsee and Hintersteinsee.

You can also go on a lake tour: via Krummsee and Reintalersee to Thiersee, then into the Bavarian Alps to Schliersee and Tegernsee. On the way back you’ll pass by the Sylvensteinsee and Achensee. Sounds like a plan?

Then put on your helmet and start the ignition. Fancy a spin but don't have your motorbike with you? But you do have your motorcycle licence? In that case, you can rent motorcycles nearby.

Why not let the cable car take the strain? You’re on holiday, after all. So it's good that some of the mountain railways are also open during the snow-free period.
